I am a third year student in the Doctoral Program in the Linguistics Department at
the University of California, San Diego. I've always had a passion for learning languages
and understanding their structure. In highschool and college, I've learned to speak
English, German, French and Spanish.I am currently learning American Sign Language.
But I had other academic interests; among other things, I was curious about the human brain
and I wanted to understand how it works. Throughout my studies of Neuroscience at Brown University, I
learned that my passion for languages and my interest in the brain can be combined. That is why I came to
UCSD.
I am mostly interested in language acquisition, and
in the neural underpinnings of language in general. Because of my interest in the brain, I am also
enrolled in the Interdisciplinary Cognitive Sciences Program. My advisor is
Rachel Mayberry
